Fibula

The Sorath Distal Tibia and Fibula Plates are specialised orthopaedic implants designed for the fixation of fractures in the distal tibia and fibula. These plates are engineered to provide optimal stability, minimise soft tissue irritation, and accommodate various fracture types, particularly in complex surgical scenarios.

Twin Lock Vero Lateral Distal Fibula Plate

This plate is indicated to treat fractures, osteotomies, and nonunions of the metaphyseal and diaphyseal region of the distal fibula

Features
  • The plates are anatomically contoured, both distally and along the fibular shaft
  • The combi holes in the shaft combine a dynamic compression unit hole with a locking screw hole. Combi holes provide flexibility with the option of axial compression and locking capability throughout the length of the plate
  • Locking screw creates a fixed angle construct
  • The plate features multiple locking options in the head, compatible with 2.7/ 2.4 mm locking screws
  • Combi holes in the shaft compatible with 3.5 mm locking and cortex screws
  • The plate is slightly bend at its distal end to improve anti – glide buttressing effect
  • K wire holes accept the K wire (up to 2mm) to fix the plate to the distal fibula and also helps in plate positioning
Twin Lock BCP Winged Plate
  • Fractures of the lateral Malleolus and Distal Fibula
  • Non-unions of the lateral Malleolus and Distal Fibula
  • Osteotomies of the metaphyseal and diaphyseal fractures of distal fibula, especially in osteopenic bone
Features
  • Anatomically pre-contoured for lateral and Posterolateral aspects of distal fibula
  • Left and right plate options
  • The combi holes in the plate shaft combine a dynamic compression unit (DCU) hole with a locking screw hole. The Combi hole provides the flexibility of axial compression and locking capability throughout the length of the plate shaft
Twin Lock BCP Distal Fibula Plate
  • Fractures of the lateral Malleolus and Distal Fibula
  • Non-unions of the lateral Malleolus and Distal Fibula
  • Osteotomies of the metaphyseal and diaphyseal fractures of distal fibula, especially in osteopenic bone
Features
  • Anatomically pre-contoured for lateral and posterolateral aspects of distal fibula
  • Available in left and right versions
  • The combi holes in the plate shaft combine a dynamic compression unit (DCU) hole with a locking screw hole. The combi hole provides the flexibility of axial compression and locking capability throughout the length of the plate shaft
  • The Hook plate is advantageous in situations with fractures with small lateral malleolus fragments, where the hook provides purchase in the small fragment
  • The Winged Plate provides “Wings” in the metaphyseal – diaphyseal region, facilitating the placement of additional screws through the plate system, in planes that are at significant angles to the principal plane of the plate. This provides for enhanced stability if the surgeon so desires in selected comminuted or oblique spiral fractures involving the distal fibula
